The McLean Alumni and Friends Association grew out of the activities preceding the outstandingly successful 1995 McLean Fortieth Anniversary Celebration (McFAC), an all-school event celebrating the opening of McLean High School in 1955. During this time, more than 200 volunteers came together to plan and coordinate the many fun activities, from the huge gala at the Ritz Carlton where more than 1,100 people dined and danced, to the school tours, the parade, and the other events associated with the cliff-hanger homecoming football game which McLean won.

But in addition to planning the fun events, a great deal of effort went into setting up a non-profit organization to provide funds to McLean High School to be used for programs to enrich the current curriculum. All donations received during the gala and homecoming activities went into this trust, and while the 1995 events were exciting, we felt that it was time for McLean High School to have a permanent association that could continue to coordinate reunion and all-school alumni events, as well as continue to fund the extra school activities.

At the end of 1996 a few volunteers from McFAC met and began the process of setting up the new association, with professional management for address maintenance, dues collection, staffing the toll free association number, and managing the web pages. This professional management frees the volunteers from doing the routine work associated with running an association and lets the volunteers concentrate on planning and running outstanding social events!

Please consider joining and volunteering your efforts if you can help in any way, and if you can't volunteer, then please help us out by updating your mailing address for us.
